Let's Flashback this Friday to one of the coolest outdoor labs of the year!
Two weeks ago, JM scholars became real-life forensic investigators during our Vehicle Identification Lab. They headed outside to measure tire width, wheelbase, and tread patterns to help solve a mock accident case. The goal? To figure out if a suspect's car could be included or excluded based on evidence found at the scene, CSI style! It was a perfect mix of science, critical thinking, and hands-on learning under the sun and proof that learning doesn’t have to stay inside the classroom.
As we kick off summer, take this as your sign to get outside, explore, and stay curious. The world is your lab! Huge shoutout to Ms. Denison for bringing forensic science to life for our scholars!

Before summer break began, students from Ms. Bonilla’s (WGMS) and Mrs. Cuevas’ (JMHS) Spanish classes had their grand pen pal reveal!
Throughout the year, these students sharpened their Spanish writing skills by exchanging letters with their pen pals—building connections, practicing language, and having a little fun along the way.
Now that school’s out, we hope they’re carrying that same excitement for communication, culture, and friendship into their summer adventures.

As the school year came to a close, the James Monroe High School World Language Department proudly welcomed new members into our chapters of the Société Honoraire de Français (National French Honor Society) and the National Latin Honor Society!
To earn induction, students maintained an A average for three consecutive semesters—a remarkable achievement. At graduation, Latin honor society members don purple and silver cords, while French honor society members wear the tricolor cord.
Congratulations to all of our hardworking and dedicated language scholars! #JM #WorldLanguages #AcademicExcellence #HonorSociety #Fredericksburg #Latin

Each year, over 100,000 students worldwide take the National Latin Exam to assess their progress and celebrate their success in Latin. This year, eight of our students participated and four scored above the global average!
Adam Loudhabachi, Shanil Panchal, and Zachary Colon earned Cum Laude honors (“with praise”), while Zohair Zaman achieved Maxima Cum Laude (“with greatest praise”) and received a silver medal.
Congratulationes to all!

Let's flash back on this Friday to earlier this month, when our JM History Club wrapped up its third and final visit of the year to Ferry Farm, the boyhood home of George Washington.
Students and teachers had the incredible opportunity to participate in real archaeological work by digging at the site of the original kitchen building from Washington’s era. From uncovering artifacts to learning about colonial life, it was a hands-on experience that brought history to life! They had a blast, learned so much, and walked away with a deeper appreciation for the local stories that shaped our nation.
Looking for something meaningful to do this summer? Ferry Farm is open to the public so stop by, take a tour, and uncover some history of your own!
