JMHS on Indoor Instruction — 10/30/2024, Approximately 8:10 AM

Students, faculty, and staff are safe. James Monroe High School is on Indoor Instruction. Indoor instruction indicates that students may move about the building as they normally do; however, no visitors or guests are permitted to enter the building. We will update our FCPS community with additional details as we receive them.

Update: Return to Normal Operations — 10/30/2024, 8:45 AM

Students, faculty, and staff remain safe. James Monroe High School is now off Indoor Instruction. All normal operations with the school have resumed.

Incident Update — 10/30/2024, 9:50 AM

This morning, a report was received regarding a suspicious person who reportedly threatened students in the parking lot. Out of an abundance of caution, we immediately went on indoor instruction in order to protect everyone.

Fredericksburg Police searched school grounds and immediate area. It was confirmed that the individual left the property.

We are pleased to report that the area has been deemed safe. Regular operations have resumed. The incident is still under investigation by the Police Department.
