On Wednesday, HMES celebrated Unity day by wearing orange and creating a kindness chain.
Did you know that FCPS is a Purple Star accredited district for our commitment to supporting military students and families. These are the Purple School Representatives for HMES, Mrs. Izquierdo, Mrs. Lewis, and Ms. Mitchell.
Ms. Blands class learned about Dia de Los Muertos and made papel picado.

Earlier this month, we dressed in blue to bring awareness to bullying. Ms. Abraham and Dr. Russ have also been reading books to classes that highlight the importance of being kind.

At Hugh Mercer we are pink from head to toe in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Cancer impacts the lives of many every day and FCPS has many Breast Cancer Survivors and Warriors. At HM we honor them every Tuesday.
