Weekly Update from Principal Snyder, 8/20/2023

Good evening, Hugh Mercer Students and Families,    

 

This is your principal, Mr. Snyder, with your weekly update for the upcoming week. Two weeks into the school year and we are off to a good start. Please remember that we are focusing on Patriot Pride and being proud of our school by taking care of it and those we go to school with.  

 

We would like to remind you that tomorrow is a half day for all K-12 students. Dismissal will take place at 12:45 pm. Kindly ensure that your transportation arrangements are in place to ensure a smooth transition.

 
This week marks the beginning of student growth assessments for grades 3-5. These assessments are crucial in understanding your child's progress and tailoring our instruction to meet their needs. We kindly request that you ensure your child arrives at school on time and has had sufficient rest. Below, please find the assessment schedule: 

 

- 3rd Grade Reading Growth Assessment: Tuesday, August 22nd, from 12:15 pm - 2:45 pm. 

- 5th Grade Reading Growth Assessment: Wednesday, August 23rd, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. 

- 4th Grade Reading Growth Assessment: Thursday, August 24th, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. 

 
We appreciate your assistance in ensuring your child's participation in these assessments.
