Weekly Update from Principal Snyder, 5/15/2023

Good evening, Hugh Mercer Students and Families,   

This is your principal, Mr. Snyder, with your weekly Principal's update for the week ahead. 

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing and wonderful moms out there. Kids, make sure to let your mom know just how much you appreciate her for all she does for you and your family.  

SOL testing is done for the majority of students. We just have retakes and makeups. If you were contacted by your child’s teacher about a retake opportunity or making up an SOL you missed, please make sure to be prepared and to arrive on time to school on your assigned day.  

We are down to the final two weeks of school. There are lots and lots of events planned, so please look over the important dates listed in tonight’s message.  

Important Dates: 

Monday, May 15th – JMHS Senior Walk (in the morning) and Fire Department visit to 3rd Grade 

Wednesday, May 17th – 5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony (4:30PM to 6:30PM) 

Friday, May 19th – Field Day for grades K to 2 

Monday, May 22nd – Field Day for grades 3 to 5 

Tuesday, May 23rd to Friday, May 26th – Half-day Schedules for all students/Early Dismissal Days (school ends at 12:45PM each day) 

Friday, May 26th – LAST DAY OF SCHOOL 

With only two weeks remaining, we are looking forward to seeing you at the start of school each and every day that we have left. See you tomorrow when we open the doors and get started with another great week of learning and fun at Hugh Mercer.
