Weekly Update from Principal Snyder, 3/5/2023

Good evening, Hugh Mercer Students and Families,   

This is your principal, Mr. Snyder, with your weekly Principal's update for the week ahead. 

Spring Break is almost here and this week we want all our students to make a pledge to give their best effort to close out the third quarter with a strong showing in their classes and learning. It all starts with great attendance each day by arriving on time ready to learn. Attendance matters because you matter.  

Important dates to note: 

March 7th – the FCPS Special Education Advisory Board will meet. Details will be posted online and sent home to families that may wish to participate.  

March 9th – End of the third quarter of school and an early dismissal day for students. Students leave at 12:45PM.  

March 9th – PTA meeting in the HMES Library @ 5:30PM 

March 10th – No school for students, start of Spring Break. FCPS buildings will be closed.  

March 13th – 17th – Spring Break 

March 20th – 5th Grade Reading and Writing SOL Field Test 

March 23rd – HM vs WGMS March Madness Faculty/Parent Basketball game @JM starting at 5:30PM 

March 28th – Report Cards sent home 

From all of us at HMES, we hope that every one of our students and their families have a relaxing, enjoyable, and safe Spring Break. Tomorrow though, we are looking forward to spending the next few days with you and showing you how much fun learning can be and how much you have learned three-quarters of the way through the school year.
