Principal's Update from Ms. Doucette August 30th

Good Afternoon Patriot families,

Thank you to our students for showing Patriot Pride by being ready, caring, and safe at school.  Last week we had our very first FUN FRIDAY celebration to thank our students and staff for doing such an excellent job.  We believe it’s important to model and teach our expectations to our students.  Students receive Patriot Pride tickets, when they exemplify ready, caring, and safe behaviors.  Ask your child to share how to be ready, caring, and safe on the bus, in the hall, in class, and in other locations at school.

Please, know that safety of staff and students is our top priority.  Please, do not send students to school if they have any of the following symptoms:  fever, fatigue, shortness of breath, or cough.  Please, do not send your child to school if they’ve been in contact with someone with COVID-19.  If you suspect your child has COVID-19 and are waiting for test results, please keep them home.  If your child has tested positive for COVID-19, please call the school.  Let us know as soon as possible so we can address potential exposures at school.

As weather permits, we’d like for our students to eat outside.  Please, send a towel to school with your child for them to sit on during meal time.  Teachers are also moving our students apart during meal time, so a towel can also be used inside as a meal mat for flexible seating.

Keep in mind that this Thursday is an early dismissal; notices will be sent home tomorrow.  Both Friday 9/3/21 and Monday 9/6/21 are student holidays.  We will not have school on these days.

We have made changes to our dismissal procedures, which will more than likely mean your child’s bus will be earlier this week.  Thank you for your patience as we worked out some hiccups in our routines.

Please, let us know if you or your child need support from school by calling us at 540-372-1115.  We appreciate your partnership!

Best,

Kim Doucette, Principal
